Founded more than 20 years ago, Cafe Campesino is Georgia's first and only 100% Fair Trade, organic coffee company. The idea for Cafe Campesino was born out of conversation with a Guatemalan coffee farmer who explained the coffee farmer's perspective to company founder Bill Harris during a Habitat for Humanity volunteer trip. Since that enlightening conversation, the Golden Rule has been central to the company's business model: do unto others as you would have done to you. As a result, Cafe Campesino has maintained direct trade relationships with small-scale, organic coffee farmers for more than 15 years in countries such as: Colombia, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Indonesia and Peru.
Based in Americus, Ga., Cafe Campesino roasts the green coffee it receives from farmer groups and sells to coffee shops, grocery stores and individual consumers across the United States. It also operates Georgia's first Specialty Coffee Association Premier Training Campus in Americus where coffee professionals and home-users come to learn about brewing and preparing coffee beverages.
Cafe Campesino also also operates a coffee shop and restaurant in Americus where made-from-scratch breads, baked goods, lunches and breakfasts delight out-of-towners and locals alike. It is located at 134 West Lamar Street in historic downtown Americus across from the Windsor Hotel.
Truly a Georgia-grown business, Cafe Campesino invites you to join them for a cup of life-changing coffee.
