We support our local farmers and work closely with them to ensure their success. We also support local Community Supported Agriculture.. We continue to seek out local resources to supply our members and the community with local food and products such as grass-fed meats, honey, eggs, breads, personal care products and household products.Way Green holds a once monthly "Local Fare Market" on the first Saturday of each month May-November on the grounds of Okefenokee Heritage Center. The market is a "producer only" market featuring local, handmade and homegrown prouducts. 2016 is the second year of the market and the opening day of May 2016 saw 26 vendors and 770 participants. We continue to work with the local school system in bringing our second Farm To School meal to our county. June 2016 will mark our first "Farm To Fork" fundraiser with all foods being prepared and served coming from a 100 mile radius of our town. We offer classes in gardening, homestead skills, real food classes and conferences to educate those interested in learning more. Way Green is a grassroots Homestead Guild of the Okefenokee Heritage Center. The mission of the group is to embrace healthy living, enhance quality of life, support local growers and restore artisan crafts and skills to our region.
